Learn about Dr. and Mrs. Gibson and the house they designed with 11 secret design elements to protect and hide runaway slaves before the Civil War, along with Pennsylvania’s contributions to the period before and during the Civil War. Tours also include presentation on 12 quilting symbols used by slaves on a South Carolina plantation as a silent code to help them escape as documented and verified from interviews by Jacquiline L.
