A FREE Family Event Celebrating America 250 and Black History Month
A collaboration between the Chester County History Center, the Kennett Underground Railroad Center and West Chester Dance Works.

Start your visit at 1:00 PM with a self‑guided tour through 300 years of Chester County history. Then, from 2:00–3:00 PM, gather in the auditorium for a dynamic program exploring the county’s pivotal role in the pathway to freedom. Storytellers from KURC and CCHC will bring to life true accounts from the Underground Railroad, leading into a special preview performance by West Chester Dance Works. Rachel Harris, One Woman Over the Line shares the remarkable story of freedom seeker Rachel Harris and her daring escape through the streets of West Chester.

Children are encouraged to participate as well, discovering how movement and dance can express emotion and history.

This FREE community program is made possible in part by support from the Chester County Community Foundation.
